This beer festival takes place in the Uptown Arts District in Michigan City, Indiana.

This year, we are excited to announce that we have secured a new and exciting location for the event right downtown! We’ll be located in and around the Farmers Market lot located at the intersection of 8th & Washington Streets. There’s a lot of cool stuff we can do with this site, and we’re thrilled for you to come experience this new site for the first time with us.

The entrance to the event is at the intersection of 8th & Franklin Street.

Your tickets to this event give you exclusive access to unlimited beer tasting from more than 40 of the best breweries in Indiana and the region.

This event does not specifically feature wine, spirits, or gluten-free beers, but some may be available.

Patrons wishing to drink water or other non-alcoholic drinks may purchase such drinks directly from the food vendors within the event confines.

Tickets to this event do not include any food; however, there will be multiple food vendors within the confines of the event, and patrons may purchase food directly from those vendors.

See our confirmed list of food vendors below.

This event will feature live music performed by local bands and artists. The music will take place in a small heated warming tent.

The warming tent is a great place to warm up and listen to some fresh local tunes. The event also features open fire pits and some forced air heaters to keep your feet warm.

See our confirmed list of musical performances below.

We like to make this event special by featuring fun and surprising activities for you to enjoy. In the past, we have featured live ice carving, interactive ice carvings, interactive art projects, games, fire pits, and more.

If you want to know what we will feature this year, you’ll just have to buy a ticket and find out for yourself!

Additionally, don’t forget to check out local businesses before and after the event as several are hosting special events of their own in support of the Shelf Ice Brewfest. See a complete list of officially recognized pre-parties and after-parties happening nearby below.

This is a ticketed event, and all tickets must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be sold at the gate. Each ticket is unique. Only purchase tickets through On Tap Tickets, by clicking on the “Buy Tickets Here!” button below. Do not purchase second-hand tickets from third-party sellers as they may be counterfeit fakes that will not grant you entrance to the event.

This event is rain, snow, or shine, and all ticket sales are final.

When you arrive at the event, you will have your ID checked, and then your ticket will be scanned. Once your ticket is scanned, you will enter the ticket-holder waiting area. At exactly 1:00 pm, everyone who has entered the ticket-holder waiting area will be allowed to enter the event at that time (arrive early to enter at 1PM on the dot!). VIP Ticket holders will also have their IDs checked and tickets scanned before entering; however, they can enter the event whenever they arrive, starting at noon.

The Shelf Ice Brewfest was created and is hosted by the Michigan City Mainstreet Association (MCMA) which is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization. MCMA created this event to bring people to Michigan City’s downtown, highlight Michigan City’s three local breweries (Shoreline Brewery, Burn ‘Em Brewing, and Zorn Brew Works) and to raise funds for MCMA’s other initiatives that help Michigan City’s Uptown Arts District. When you buy a ticket to this event, you help Michigan City businesses and people who enjoy the Uptown Arts District.
