Michigan City Mainstreet Association

Purpose & Description

The Party Grant Program is a financial incentive program offered by the Michigan City Mainstreet Association that will encourage property owners in the Uptown Arts District to take pride and celebrate their local area within the District by encouraging the general public to come and spend time in their “neighborhood” and see what makes it unique and special. Each grant will be awarded in an amount up to $500.00.



In order to be considered eligible for this grant, you must be the owner of a property that is located within the Uptown Arts District or a resident living in the Uptown Arts District.


Eligible Expenses

Grant money can only be used to fund the following items:

  1. Food
  2. Non-alcoholic beverages
  3. Entertainment


Additional Conditions & Requirements

The following conditions also apply:

  1. Up to $500.00 will be awarded to a single property owner or resident no more than two (2) times per year.
  2. A $500.00 grant will not be awarded to any block more than two (2) times per year.
  3. Parties must be open to the public and free.
  4. Parties can be located anywhere in the Uptown Arts District.


Application and Administration of Grant

Interested parties can apply for this grant by describing the intended event, what it will offer to the public, and the anticipated expenses that the grant will be used for and submitting it to PartyGrantProgram@uptownartsdistrict.org.


The exact amount of grant money awarded will be based on receipts for eligible expenses. Receipts for eligible expenses shall be scanned and emailed to MCMA after the party and reimbursement of eligible expenses will be paid after the event up to $500.00 per party.


MCMA reserves the right to waive any grant request.


Other Information

MCMA will help promote your event through our social media and website, but getting street closure for your party will be your responsibility.
